Tempest Rising wants to revive the feel of the old Command and Conquer games. To do this, the game draws so heavily on its role models that it could be described as a clone. However, Tempest Rising brings the old game principle into the modern age in terms of graphics and technology with the help of the Unreal Engine, which should be enough for many old fans. As we explain in detail in our preview, we were able to test out the Skirmish mode exclusively and try out the two factions GDF and Dynasty for as long as we wanted, but only on one map. We also didn’t see anything new from the campaign. According to the developers, it should be reminiscent of the role models, but still offer an independent and interesting storyline. It is not yet known when exactly Tempest Rising will be released. The only thing that is clear is that the third faction will not appear until after the release. The developers deliberately postponed this content in order to rework the basic feel of the game again in 2023 following feedback from the demo. A plan that they have certainly succeeded in, judging by the Skirmish mode.
