Capcom has now confirmed that the upcoming dino action title Exoprimal will also have cross-play functionality – but for now there is a catch to that stuff.
The new dinosaur shooter Exoprimal will be released in a few days – and now it’s clear that the good piece will then also support cross-play. Capcom has now confirmed this again, but also followed up with a clarification.
What is certain is that technically you can play Exoprimal with players on other consoles, but there are also restrictions at the start of the game. So you can’t form a party with players from other consoles for the time being.
Translated, this means: Exoprimal supports cross-platform matchmaking right from the start, but creating a team across platforms is not available. Instead, the party creation system will be limited to a platform ecosystem broken down into the following groups:
- Gruppe 1: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
- Group 2: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5
- Group 3: Steam, Windows
However, it cannot be ruled out that cross-platform group formations will be possible at a later date. We are working on finding ways to implement this at a later date. For the moment, however, it is important to know: If, for example, you as a PlayStation owner wanted to play Exoprimal together with your Xbox buddy in a team, then you have to say goodbye to that for the moment.
Exoprimal will be released on July 14, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
