Although technically you can play with players on different consoles Exoplasmayou won’t be able to host a party with them.

Earlier this week, the official Exoprimal Twitter account shared a post explaining how cross-platforming works in the game, and how the team plans to make the feature more widespread. “Hello Exofighters, we’ve seen discussions in the Exoprimal community regarding the ability to create parties between players on different platforms, and would like to clarify the game’s feature set at launch,” the thread opens.

“On day one, Exoprimal will support cross-platform matchmaking, but team creation will be specific to each platform ecosystem, as follows (in no particular order): Group 1: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows Group 2: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Group 3: Steam/

“We’re working on ways to let you play with friends on other platforms, but this may take some time. Best of all, we’ll share the full game update roadmap with you soon!”

Essentially, if you’re using a PlayStation, you can create a party with friends on the current (PS5) or previous generation (PS4), and Xbox One, Series X/S, and Windows players can do the same with each other. And, despite the Windows and Steam PC versions, there doesn’t appear to be any cross-platform party creation either.

This might be a disappointment for those looking to form a group with friends on a different platform, but hopefully the team will fix this soon.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Exoprimal would launch on Game Pass day one, which was reiterated in July’s Game Pass announcement.

Exoprimal is only a few days away when it launches on July 14, and as mentioned earlier, you’ll be able to play it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Windows or Steam.
