The Xbox Games Showcase event has delivered: it is one of the best conferences so far in the Summer Game Fest 2023, and it will probably end up being the best. The trailer-gameplay shown at the Xbox event was just a taste of everything that was waiting for us at the Starfield Direct, which revealed a lot of information about this space adventure.
He Starfield Direct He hasn’t played around with little girls: he has released a huge load of new information, gameplay, cinematic scenes… Even an incredible collector’s edition along with an Xbox controller and headset themed with the motifs of the space video game.
In order to make a light reading and that the publication does not remain too long, we make a short summary of everything that we have been able to see in the presentation. As we have said, some things we already knew and others are new. You can find them after the presentation video in the form of a list, ordered by appearance.
- planet exploration: fauna and flora, mining, structures such as bases, caves and stations…
- Focused gameplay combat and gunplay.
- Inventory to select outfits and weapons, each with their own stats. We see sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers… We also see consumables with different properties and weight in the inventory.
- space navigation: enter and leave planets, travel between systems and more. We also see some base locations in the major Colonies.
- Scenes from the story, which seems to have a certain supernatural component and news about the different factions that we will find throughout our adventure. Each faction will have its aesthetic, such as western and cyberpunk.
- Character creation and customization: from the face and hair, to a series of specializations and abilities with advantages and disadvantages will mark our experience. Throughout the adventure, we will level up and we will be able to develop our characters in different specific skill trees. Two examples we see are more dialogue options and stealth.
- Ship creation and customization through modules, each one with its properties, price and brand within the universe. In addition, they show more information about our partner, who will have a lot of personality and will be aesthetically and weaponly customizable.
- space combat. We will be able to communicate with other ships, choose to board and/or destroy them. Space conflicts will depend on our personality and relationships with different factions.
- Building houses and mining through automated machines, and assigning companions to the crew.
The presentation has also revealed the Starfield Collector’s Edition, which includes the watch that our character will wear to give us basic information. Starfield is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6, 2023. It will be the first day with Game Pass.
