The current racing game F1 22 has been available since the beginning of July, and now another important feature is to be added: cross-play.
Codemasters and EA announced today that cross-play support will be added to F1 22 these days. The feature should take off in its entirety at the end of August and then enable playing with each other, regardless of whether you are on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One or PC (Steam and Origin).
In the run-up, cross-play is to be put through its paces again. Two separate test runs are planned, the first from tomorrow, August 5th, to August 7th. A second test run will then rise from August 12th to 14th in the modes “Social Race” and “Two-Player Career”.
The cross-play integration is one of the features most requested by the community, as it will allow friends to play games together across platforms in the future. There’s also the option to disable cross-play for those who just want to compete against competitors from the same device family. Session hosts will be able to invite friends on other platforms using the “Invite Friends” option in the game lobby. Gamers can then review and accept requests during a race by pausing the game and going to the “Invites and Requests” option.
