The Fallout community is great at coming together to create cool stuff, and one of the smallest of these is a massive Fallout 4 mod made over the course of a weekend to help raise money for charity, made by Wes Johnson, legendary voice actor for Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Starfield, who also stars in the mod.
If you’re not up on the subject, over the past few years a group of high-profile Fallout and Elder Scrolls modders have come together to create a massive mod whose features are voted on by fans over a weekend – kind of like a game jam. This is just one of many events organized by Johnson and the charity Fallout For Hope to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association at an annual event called Wes Johnson’s Voiceapalooza.

This year, the team behind the massive Fallout 4 Settlement Simulator mod, and creators of America Rising, Thomas ‘Otellino’ Mitchell and Emmi ‘Elianora’ Junkkari, are working on the mod, which is called Shady Motives.
It’s a brand new questline with a main character voiced by Johnson – who you might be familiar with as the voice actor of Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Elder Scrolls, Fox in Fallout 3, and Ron Hope in Starfield – and various modders have added a new dungeon player home and a fully voiced companion to it. There are also some cool new custom weapons and clothing items to earn. You can play it right now on PC via the link above, and on Xbox here.

As of yesterday, the mod and its livestream have raised over $16,000 for charity, surpassing the more than $13,000 that modders raised by doing the same thing last year. For reference, the total fundraising for this year’s Voiceapalooza is currently around $31,000, leaving plenty of time to raise more money before it ends on June 30.
“Mod enthusiasts around the world have joined our ‘Radiant Hope’ charity campaign [and] “It’s amazing what Bethesda does for worthy causes,” Fallout For Hope founder Kenneth Vigue told us. “We [also] Helping our own people [way]… I couldn’t be happier about what we have accomplished together.”
