Fallout 4 is a few years old, but that doesn’t stop Bethesda from giving the nuclear classic another upgrade.
The fact that Bethesda likes to maintain games over several generations is not new – see The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Now Fallout 4 is also being pimped for the future. Because Bethesda has approvedthat the game, originally released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, will also get a new-gen version.
Fallout 4 will get a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version next year in the form of a free upgrade. PC players will also enjoy various upgrades.
Among other things, Bethesda promises performance mode for high frame rates, additional features for 4K resolution (4K30 was already offered on Xbox One X via upgrade), various bug fixes and content for the Creation Club. So it could be worth digging out the classic again and enjoying it in new splendor.
To bridge the gap, there are still some promotions going on to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fallout series. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is currently available for free on the Epic Games Store, while Fallout 76 is currently available for free on Amazon Prime Gaming. Fallout 76 has the Spooky Scorched Halloween event running through November 8, and there’s a free Atomic Shop reward every day during the same period.
From November 2nd to February 2nd, Fallout 76 will also have a 25th Anniversary Bundle via Amazon Prime Gaming with various rewards and lunch boxes. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get the same bundle from October 27th to December 27th.
