Despite previous announcements, Xbox seems to want to speed up the process and offer us a new work as soon as possible!

During a recent episode of the podcast “The Xbox Two“, Jez Corden (the show’s host) emphasized that the teams responsible are fully aware of the demand for a new Fallout title.

He noted that the company recognizes the potential for success in the next installment of the series.

Given this strong demand, one way to speed up Fallout 5’s development is to entrust it to a studio other than Bethesda. This would be a notable change, as Fallout New Vegas, released in 2010, remains the last major game in the series not developed by Bethesda. However, this may not be a bad thing! Many fans believe that New Vegas remains the best experience on the license, with a rating of 84/100 Metacriticbut developed by Obsidian Entertainment.

Why wouldn’t you want to give Bethesda another chance? The studio is currently facing other major projects that could limit its ability to focus on a new installment in the Fallout series.

In fact, Bethesda is currently focusing its resources on the development of the sixth major work in its Elder Scrolls series to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this legendary series. Todd Howard, video game designer behind Bethesda’s two flagship series, announced in 2022 that Fallout 5 would be next after Elder Scrolls 6. This would mean a release close to 2035, which doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Xbox, which wants to take advantage of the series’ popularity and offer a new game from 2030.
