Bethesda probably didn’t see that coming: through tedious work, a fan trailer for Fallout 76 was released, which can certainly impress. Even the developers have reacted and are speechless.
Sometimes video game fans impress even the developers. Be it through cosplays that are true to the original, useful mods or even completely specially created trailers. The latter category includes a new video by Brian Curtin (known on YouTube as Infectious Designer) depicting a live-action adaptation of the online role-playing game Fallout 76.
Arguably most impressive is how Curtin and his cast captured the world of Bethsda’s post-apocalyptic series. The desolation and brutality can be seen in every frame and thanks to well-implemented CGI elements such as the power armor, everything seems to be cast in one piece. Appropriately, the costumes and environments are cut straight out of the game. No wonder Curtin is no stranger to fan movies. For example, he did short strips on Watch Dogs and Half-Life.
Even the developers of Fallout 76 are impressed by the video. On Twitter they claim to be “speechless”. Not bad publicity for the Infectious Designer. But the community also finds clear words for the fan trailer and praises the detailed implementation of the game, which despite the bumpy start still has a few players.
Brian Curtin himself also appears to be part of the Fallout 76 discipleship community, and penned his very own declaration of love (alongside the trailer itself) in the video description. From taking first steps in the wilderness to adventures with friends, there’s something “pretty SPECIAL” about Fallout 76 for him.
