Fallout: New Vegas: Insider: Sequel talks resumed

Fallout, Insider, resumed, sequel, talks, Vegas

After Fallout 3, Bethesda released the spin-off Fallout: New Vegas from Obsidian Entertainment in 2010 – and that was quite convincing. A sequel was still coming, but that could possibly change now.

Fallout: New Vegas certainly had its fans more than a decade ago; Due to the popularity of the spin-off, a number of players assumed that a successor would only be a matter of time – but there is still no such thing. A sequel hasn’t been announced yet, but years later there seems to be hope for one again.

The new rumor originated with the renowned insider Jeff Grubb, who has often been right with his information in the past. If you believe his latest information, Microsoft has at least started talks with Obsidian Entertainment to explore the possibilities for a Fallout: New Vegas 2. This was made possible by the Bethesda purchase by Microsoft, which also gave the giant from Redmond access to the fallout IP.

According to Grubb’s sources, there is “a lot of interest in making that possible”. However, fans would probably have to wait many years for a possible Fallout: New Vegas 2, should one actually get the green light.

The franchise has been quiet about new games since the release of Fallout 76 in 2018. The multiplayer game will continue to be supplied with new content as a live service title, but gamers have been waiting for a series-typical single-player experience for some time.
