The Fallout series launched on Amazon Prime early this morning, with a lot of positive feedback, at least from critics. There are also some activities related to the series.
Since three o’clock we have been able to enjoy the first eight episodes of the first season of Fallout and they seem to be well received. 93 percent approval on Rotten Tomatoes speaks quite clearly. Metacritic shows a rather mixed picture with 7.2 from critics and 6.6 from users, although there are again numerous users crawling out of the basement who condemn the series adaptation because of its supposed “wokeness”. If you have nothing else to complain about…
Of course, you have to decide for yourself whether you like the series. Unfortunately, I was only able to take a quick look at the first episode before work today, but I really liked what I saw and I’m excited to see what happens next.
In addition to the start of the series, there are also some activities related to the games. NVIDIA GeForce NOW has added two of the games to the cloud gaming service. The Steam version of Fallout 4 as well as the Steam and PC Game Pass versions of Fallout 76 can now be streamed. In Fallout 4, the Creation Club content can also be used in the cloud.
And not only that, Fallout 4 will actually receive the long-awaited free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 25th, with performance and quality mode, improved resolution and 60fps also included. Owners of the old console versions also receive an update with various fixes and optimizations, also of course free of charge. PC gamers will receive their upgrade with numerous fixes and updates as well as support for widescreen formats up to ultra-widescreen.
Fallout 4 will also be available in the Epic Games Store and is approved for the Steam Deck. Fallout 4 is also getting a whole host of Creation Club additions and even a new quest called “Echoes of the Past”.
And Bethesda itself doesn’t miss a beat, as an update for the fun spin-off Fallout: Shelter was released parallel to the series. You can get the new version in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The update includes a new questline with eight missions, new locations and six new Vault Dwellers, including Lucy and the Ghoul, both from the series. There are also new cosmetics and items, such as a cowboy outfit, the ghoul’s revolver and Lucy’s wedding dress from the first episode. There is also a Vault 33 suit available until May 7th.
Amazon itself has also joined in and is also bringing more Fallout titles to the cloud. Fallout 76 was already scheduled to launch in April, but now you can also stream Fallout 3: GotY Edition and Fallout: New Vegas via Amazon Luna. You can also currently bag Fallout 76 for free as part of the April offer.
