There are some things that are as certain as amen in church. Bread always falls on the jam side, Mexican food always burns twice. And most of the different factions in the Fallout universe are mortal enemies.
This also applies to the New California Republic (NCR) and Caesar’s Legion. In Fallout: New Vegas, the two groups are fighting for control of the Hoover Dam, which is vital to the survival of the city of New Vegas. As players, we have the choice of whose side we are on in this conflict.
But spoilers: Neither is morally cleanThe Legion is a bunch of barbaric slave drivers who could have stepped out of a mediocre documentary about the Roman Empire. The NCR, on the other hand, is a power-hungry state full of corrupt imperialists.
However, that doesn’t stop Fallout fans from joining the two groups and playing out their conflict in real life with a wink.

What happened?
On Reddit posted user CourierJackalope a few days ago the story of her Flag War
The American is a big New Vegas fan and had hung a red Legion banner in front of her front door to express her love for the game.
However, peace in the neighborhood did not last long. Only a few days after CourierJackalope had placed their flag in front of the door, the banner of the Republic of New California with the characteristic two-headed bear appeared in front of the neighboring house.
The Legion supporter could not let this happen and confronted the neighbor via messenger. She wrote to him: The NCR is not welcome here
The Republican responded promptly: Well, strangely enough, you Caesar’s Legion types aren’t welcome here either. That probably means war.

The Reddit community celebrated the virtual exchange and of course wanted to find out more about the background to the flag war. As it turned out, the relationship between the neighbors is actually quite harmonious. But both are obviously just big New Vegas fans and wanted to let each other know.
The real question is why anyone would have a good conscience hanging a Legion flag in front of their house. After all, the Legion is probably the cruelest faction in the Fallout universe, regularly massacring civilians and having their opponents crucified.
The answer is CourierJackalopethat she has always been a big history nerd. The American is particularly fascinated by the aesthetics of the Roman EmpireHowever, she has nothing to do with the Legion’s political views. She also has the flags of all the other New Vegas factions at home and could easily exchange the banner for that of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Finally revealed CourierJackalope another sweet secret, because the Fallout flags have a personal meaning for them: As the American writes on Reddit, she met her current husband through New Vegas.
He posted photos from Las Vegas in an online forum, where the two finally met. She also took a photo with her NCR flag at the Hoover Dam. It seems that what belongs together really does come together.
