Back in the 90s, a point-and-click adventure game became popular Warcraft It was in development, and while it was canceled, a fan recreated a version of the game that was leaked a few years ago.

The canceled game Warcraft: Lord of Tribes appeared online back in 2016, and while it was very playable, the cutscenes were very crisp and low resolution, the audio was out of sync, and some cutscenes were simply missing . However, as reported by PC Gamer and first spotted by IndieRetroNews, one fan has been reworking all of the cutscenes for the past six years to make the experience more enjoyable.

This particular project was led by modder DerSilver83, who paired the release of the mini-remaster with a blog post discussing it. “I’ve been working on it for the past 6 years, and during that time, I’ve done almost everything I can to complete and enhance cutscenes in a reasonable amount of time,” DerSilver83 wrote. “For me, this The game is so much fun right now that I don’t think it’s really useful to further enhance the cutscenes.”

As part of the remake, all low-res cutscenes that were originally hand drawn have been removed by DerSilver83 with compression artifacts. Some frames and assets had to be completely repainted in Photoshop, which was a major undertaking.

Some new transition scenes have also been created from scratch to make things even better, and all audio is properly synced too. The missing speech lines were also created by using text-to-speech software and were also based on the original script. Any continuity errors in cutscenes have also been removed.

It should be noted that if you want to actually play the remaster, you’ll need the original files, which aren’t readily available due to Blizzard’s DMCA files at the time of the leak. However, if you do rummage through the original file somewhere, you can download the remastered file here for your convenience.
