An oil refinery in GTA Online? A fan trailer expresses this wish in an impressive way. An oil refinery in GTA Online? A fan trailer expresses this wish in an impressive way.

With the Cayo Perico Heist, Rockstar Games released the “biggest update” to date for GTA Online in December 2020. Since then it has become a bit quieter on the content front and quite a few fans are already wondering what could come next?

One possible answer: new vehicles and an underwater base. At least when it comes to a trailer that was created by fans with the help of a specially devised DLC concept. The video is so well done that it could easily have come from the developers themselves.

The style is reminiscent of the official Rockstar trailers, which combine cinematic moments with dialogues from the game. But see for yourself:

Fake trailers: from hovercraft to underwater bases

The DLC concept including the trailer is appropriately named »Aquatics and other antics« and comes from the pen of Reddit user “Luciferreap” and a team of enthusiasts. In a good 60 seconds they present the desired innovations, which mainly consist of new vehicles and an oil refinery, which is also an underwater base for new secret projects.

What can you see in the video? First and foremost, the DLC of your choice revolves around building your own oil empire. Why not? After all, you can already do countless businesses in GTA Online and earn your money as a criminal biker club or as the CEO of a more or less serious company.

As usual, building an oil company would be linked to the purchase of a property, in this case probably a refinery in the water off Los Santos. There you are not only drilling for the black gold, but also using the facility as a new base, which this time is below sea level.

New vehicles: Of course, sleek vehicles should not be missing in a DLC for GTA Online, whether fictional or not. New vehicles can therefore also be discovered in the fan trailer, including a hovercraft, the small car Reliant Robin from England and even a new fighter jet.

Fans think it’s great: On Reddit, users are enthusiastic about both the idea and the trailer. For example, it says in a comment by “lxrxyx”:

“I would pay a lot to have a glass-walled underwater base.”

Other commentators also praise the makers and compare the video material with official Rockstar trailers.

By the way, a lot in GTA Online in 2021 will also revolve around money. In our guide, we’ll tell you how you can earn a lot of it quickly and easily:

What’s really next for GTA Online?

Time will tell whether Rockstar Games is also thinking of expanding GTA Online’s underwater activities, or whether the idea remains just a fan request. Regarding new content for the multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto 5, the developer is, as usual, very covered.

It is clear, however, that GTA Online will continue to be supported this year. After all, 2020 was the most successful year so far and it could continue like this in 2021:
