news culture Fantastic Beasts 3: The Adventure Dedicated to Dumbledore at the heart of the debates
While fans are impatiently awaiting the release of Fantastic Beasts 3 in cinemas, the first feedback has been falling… And what we can say is that the title is far from unanimous.
An adventure without magic?
Since the launch of a first film in 2016 that wowed large audiences, the Fantastic Beasts saga, a prequel to the adventures of Harry Potter, has struggled to please. While the first work earned a Metacritic score of 66, with a total of 33 positive responses from the press for a total of 50 reviews, the second chapter, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, was less revered by the masses. Out of a total of 48 reviews, the film’s meta score is 52 for only 17 positive reviews. Despite this less enticing second suggestion, we were hoping that Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets would raise the bar, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Again, lingering on Metacritic’s page, we can see that early returns aren’t very flattering; worse, the film by David Yates, is currently doing less well than the previous two theatrical productions.
A 5-star cast and an upcoming release
If you want to keep hope and make up your own mind, be aware that Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets will be arriving in French cinemas soon. As a matter of fact, the more than two-hour feature film will be available in our regions from April 13, 2022.
As the name suggests, the title focuses on Albus Dumbledore, the professor at Hogwarts, here played by Jude Law, who forges ties with Grindelwald, the trilogy’s major villain, portrayed on screen by the talented Mads Mikkelsen will. Of course, note that Newt Scamander, the hero of the first chapters, will also be back, once again played by Eddie Redmayne.
