Mistborn series and Stormlight archive writer Brandon Sandserson has been approached Eldon Ring Publisher Bandai Namco about future collaborations.
Speaking on the air earlier this week (thanks to VGC), Sanderson said he received an Elden Ring package from the publisher, which includes a cape, sword and other game-based items, as well as from Bandai Namco of a note.
“They might be interested in doing something together, that’s to say,” Sanderson said. “Actually me too. That’s how I roll: I actually have a pitch for them in the back of my head, so I might have to send them my pitch and see what they think.”
Sanderson said on the livestream that he had come up with a promotion for the Soul Source game because he always had a “promotion that fits everything.”
“That’s it. Like, ‘What would I do if I were to do a Soul Source game?’ You know when I think ‘I wonder what I’d do if I wrote a Magic story?'” what happened?
“Equally, I’ve been thinking, ‘What would I do if I made a Soulsource game?’ Obviously, I can’t decide, right? But I’ve got it in the back of my mind, so maybe you guys will Hear from me. I have some ideas. I always have ideas,” Sanderson said.
Known for the fictional world of Cosmere, where most of his fantasy novels like the Mistborn series and Stormlight Archive are set outside of Cosmere, Sanderson has written several young adult and teen series. These include The Reckoners, the Skyward series and the Alcatraz series. He is also known for completing Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, and for creating several graphic novel fantasy series.
If FromSoftware teamed up with Sanderson next, it would be a second collaboration with a fantasy writer, as Elden Ring was produced in partnership with novelist George RR Martin, who provided material for the game’s setting.
