Dring does not provide any precise data, but points out that these will soon follow in the 2021 annual report.
Measurable growth
The gigantic success of the Farming Simulator 22, at least to this extent, comes as a surprise. Actually, one would classify hardcore simulations more as a niche spectrum. However, the number of players on Steam, which at the top of the list scratched the 100,000 mark, clearly speaks of a major mainstream success:
In addition, the farming simulator has grown considerably in recent years: the 2017 version was released in October 2016 with around 31,000 simultaneously active players on Steam. The 19 offshoot of the Farming series reached almost 60,000 virtual farmers in 2018. Now the latest series part scratches the 100,000.
However, these numbers only show how many players are active in Farming Simulator 22 at the same time. The actual sales are many times higher. In the week of release alone, the game sold 1.5 million times.
