What did you do with your parents when you were little? Were you allowed to hold the flashlight while the car was being repaired or did you perhaps build soapboxes?
One thing is certain: Very few of you have built a PC into a microwave – with a screen in the door
So far, this seems to be reserved for Reddit user SuchLikeDuck_YT and his son.
Microwave PC and chicken power supply
SuckLikeDuck_Yt posted on several subreddits, including r/PCMR and r/Sleeperbattlestations, that he and his son built a PC into a microwave and shared several pictures.

What’s inside?
- Processor: Ryzen 5 3600
- RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3600 mHz
- Storage: 1TB Neo Forza NVME
- Graphics card: Radeon R9 270
- Mainboard: Gigabyte B550M-K
In addition to the components already mentioned that he installed in the microwave, he also installed a laptop screen in the door. This made several users curious and prompted them to ask how they routed the cables for the screen, since the door is not designed to support a screen.
The answer is simple:
»We cleverly placed them under the cooking chamber and up the side to 2 cuts in the door«
Chicken power supply: Since the power supply no longer fit into the housing of the kitchen appliance, SuckLikeDuck_YT took the opportunity and continued the topic.
The power supply is located in a KFC box inside the microwave, where you normally heat up food.
And in case you were wondering, no, the microwave doesn’t work anymore. In fact, they used a microwave that was already broken.
The PC communities in the subreddits are almost without exception enthusiastic about the idea and immediately make various suggestions to further expand the build.

»Please tell me that the start button is also the power button [des PCs] is”
To which the user atrib replies:
»and that the number pad functions as a numpad«
The answer: Neither – unfortunately. But SuchLikeDuck_YT likes the idea. He also confirms that this is a kind of beta build anyway and that he might build a second, better version.

“This is really damn cool. I really love it. But how’s the airflow?”
SuchLikeDuck_YT gives the answer:
“The CPU cooler isn’t ideal, but there’s a high-airflow fan on the bottom that circulates the air before it exits the back.”
By the way: A father played with his child on the PS2 for years because he couldn’t afford anything better. Now his now grown-up son gave him a PS4 Pro
The rest of the comments consist mostly of praise and further ideas for a second version.
Even the r/Sleeperbattlestations community, who are used to similar builds, are absolutely enthusiastic about the post.
