Game News Final Fantasy 16 on PC: The producer is very afraid of “inappropriate” mods…
Final Fantasy XVI has just been released on PC. The latest installment to date in Square Enix’s famous J-RPG saga was first released on PlayStation 5 in June 2023 and is now available to a whole new community. Producer Naoki Yoshida has expressed some concerns about future FF16 mods, asking players not to do certain things they consider “inappropriate.”
Final Fantasy XVI available on PC
Final Fantasy XVI, released on PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023, received a positive response from the press and players, who gave it a score of 87% and 8.0/10 on MetaCritic, respectively. Despite this, FF16 gradually faded into obscurity. Openly inspired by Game of Thrones in its narrative development, this episode focuses on an “action” approach to the detriment of RPG mechanics.
“Inappropriate” mods for Final Fantasy XVI?
Some members of the Square Enix team, including the producer, are not reassured by the idea of putting their baby in the hands of a community that can do both the best and the worst. During an interview that Naoki Yoshida gave to our colleagues at PC Gamer, The Japanese producer of Final Fantasy XVI did not want to encourage players to create this or that mod. On the contrary, he preferred to ask them not to develop certain ones that they consider “inappropriate”.
If we said, “It would be nice if someone did XYZ,” it could be perceived as a request, so I won’t go into details here.
The only thing I would like to say is that we definitely don’t want to say anything offensive or inappropriate, so please don’t do this or install anything similar. – Naoki Yoshida (Producer – Final Fantasy XVI)
Final Fantasy XVI has been available on PC since September 17, 2024 and on PlayStation for over a year.
