Final Fantasy 16 looks insane. The first feedback is unanimous for the time being, even if there are still some gray areas. Meanwhile, fans are still divided, and rightly so.
The next big installment in the franchise marks a real break from previous installments, particularly in fully adopting its action-orientation for combat. With a veteran Devil May Cry behind the scenes, expect little else. Either way, Final Fantasy 16 promises to be edgy and epic.
But despite this important difference Final Fantasy 16 remains a FF. Naoki Yoshida, the project’s big boss, said that this sixteenth installment in the numbered saga will offer everything a Final Fantasy should offer. Even better, such a recent interview for play magazine
Final Fantasy 16 will copy its elders
As we know, this is new FF will not be a fully open world, instead offering exploration in semi-open areas. However, Clive (our hero in the game) will travel around the world several times. We will see the country and to travel from one region to another we have the right to a map of the world. The latter is directly inspired by previous games, including Final Fantasy 10. Naoki Yoshida therefore explains it FF16
travel
Also, Yoshida makes an important point. Once the main quest is completed in a visitable region, you will automatically return to a base called “The Hideaway”. In short, a node that obviously we will pass often and that will allow us to breathe between two missions. From this base you can manage your next trips, your equipment, etc.
In addition, it is always possible to return to the regions you have already visited to explore more, complete side quests and much more.
When it will be much less open than FF15, Final Fantasy 16 but should offer plenty of exploration and a few extras. You can also ask the main quest at any time.
This new part of the franchise therefore promises to be generous. But we’ll wait until we get our hands on the beast to be sure.
as a reminder Final Fantasy 16 is expected from June 22, 2023 exclusively on PS5.
