The PC versions of Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6 will be released from Steam later this month.
Square Enix has posted a notice about both on the Steam page Final fantasy Each game will be removed from Steam on July 27th (thanks to Siliconera).
Instead, the company recommends that you purchase a pixelated remake of Final Fantasy 6. Therefore, if you want the original port, it is best to act now.
Earlier this month, during E3 2021, Square Enix Presents showed a pixelated remake of 1-6. Although no detailed information other than their upcoming launches are provided, we at least know that each of these six games will be available on mobile devices and Steam at the same time.
In order to be released separately, each game will undergo a “pixel perfect” transformation, which may mean improved visual effects, etc.
No release window other than “soon” is provided, but it should be shortly after the delisting of FF5 and FF6.
