According to Square, development is “smoothly progressing as planned.”The company is still working on a release date, according to Statement from producer Yoshinori Kitase.
Rebirth is the sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and the second in a trilogy of planned remakes of the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. A release on PS5 is currently planned for late 2023 or early 2024.
Set in the dystopian metropolis of Midgar, you control Cloud Strife, a mercenary who joins the eco-terrorist group Avalanche to stop the mega-corporate Shinra from using the Earth’s living essence as a source of energy.
Announced in 2015, Final Fantasy VII Remake sold more than 3.5 million copies within three days of its release on April 10, 2020, and more than 5 million copies by August of that year. An enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade with additional side stories launches for PC and PS5 in 2021.
The third work of the remake has not been publicly discussed, although we try to guess its title, but only Square Eni knows it at the moment.
