Square Enix announced further details on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade in a press release today. Among other things, it is about the cast of the English speakers and the Yuffie DLC, which now has a name.
The drilled-out PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be known to have the addition of Intergrade and bring a number of technical and content innovations with it. Further details on this were announced today.
It was already known that the new version would also bring the next episode about Yuffie with it. This Yuffie DLC now also has an official name: Final Fantasy VII Remake – Episode INTERmission.
In the new content you can use Yuffi Kisaragi’s distinctive fighting style when she tries to steal the most powerful materia of the Shinra corporation. Yuffie, who can shine in both close and long-range combat, goes behind enemy lines with the help of Avalanche to restore the honor of her homeland and seek long overdue revenge. As one of Wutai’s finest ninjas, she offers a style of play that allows her to throw her huge, iconic shuriken at opponents. If she throws her shuriken, she can increase its range and damage with ranged ninjutsu attacks, and use her elemental ninjutsu skill to give it the element of fire, ice, lightning or wind.
Square Enix has also introduced another Yuffie skill called “Banishment”. This unleashes an attack that does more damage the more ATB are used on other commands. Similar to the ninjutsu attacks, the element of this attack can be changed with elemental ninjutsu. Cyclone can cause a gust of wind that damages nearby enemies and pulls them closer.
The additional content for the successful title brings with it other characters in addition to Yuffie, including Zhijie, a Wutaian who serves as a contact between the new government of Wutais and Avalanche. These other characters will of course be set to music, with the English speakers now also being determined:
- Yuffie Kisaragi, voiced by Suzie Yeung
- Sonon Kusakabe, gesprochen von Aleks Le
- Weiss, voiced by Daman Mills
- Zhijie, voiced by Griffin Puatu
- Nayo, voiced by Ashley Boettcher
- Billy Bob, voiced by David Goldstein
- Polk, voiced by Daniel Amerman
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will receive a number of technical improvements on the PS5 in addition to the original PS4 game. PS4 buyers of the original will receive a free Enhancedment Upgrade for the PS5 and can secure the new episode INTERmission as a separate download. The release is planned for June 10, 2021.
