Days and days of writing, polishing and working to get to the moment in which Brandon Sanderson has finally finished Wind and Truth. The fifth installment of the saga The Storm Archive It is completely finished and it has been a really long process that the American author has had to go through.
The first record that Sanderson has of his work is from March 2021, so it has been more than three years since the book began to be created. Now with 491,000 words written
Today I finished the last interlude at 5:21. This is it: Wind and Truth, the fifth book of The Stormlight Archive, is finished. I’ll hand it over to the corrections team tomorrow morning. 491,000 words. The first file I have in my folder about this was dated March 2021, although active writing began about a year after that. So I’ve spent two years and a few months working on this full time, with another year of work on the scheme. I feel very good about this final version. See you on December 6th. The book is finally FINISHED.
As pointed out from Cosmere 16 Podcastwe are talking about the longest novel that Sanderson has written so far for the series, exceeding 462,000 words that make up The Rhythm of War. With this, there are already five books that form The Storm Archive
And it is that Wind and Truth marks the first half of the franchise, which will bring together up to 10 novels in what promises to be a legendary epic. There are a few years left until we really see the adventures on the planet Roshar come to an end. Sanderson has finished his work four days later than the expected goal and it will be on December 6 when the book, Spanish edition included, can be purchased.
