The Burnout franchise could soon be making its big comeback. At least that’s what a large studio that has already worked on the license suggests.
Do you like racing games? So you’ve probably already looked into the Burnout franchise. Unlike Need for Speed, for example, the various opus have very specific mechanics. You can use the famous “takedowns” to call your opponents into action. The problem is that it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a new version of the license. However, one particular studio seems to want to remedy the situation. Will hope finally be reborn?
Burnout again soon?
So where does this strange rumor come from? From Stellar Entertainment, which recently announced that it is working on a “ Arcade-style AAA racing game “. Well, that alone doesn’t tell us anything. We can’t know if it’s a sequel, a remake or a new creation. The community was therefore in limbo, but everything has changed. The company is a few days ago brought back to the fore with the aim of arousing the curiosity of fans. To this end, she wrote a message that leaves almost no doubt about the return of Burnout.
The studio says it themselves, it’s a hint for their next production. Here is the sentence that ignited the powder: “ and the bosses *still* haven’t called any takedowns! “. You will notice that we have not translated the message, and that is intentional. In fact, if we were to translate “take down” into French, we would lose the information provided by Stellar Entertainment. For fans, we must understand the nature of the project no longer in question as it relates directly to the main mechanics of the Burnout series.
Also, without context, it’s difficult to understand the sentence, which makes it even stranger. After that, we still don’t have any official confirmation that it is actually burnout. For now, it’s best not to get carried away. On the other hand, it is important to note that the studio helped put together the remaster of the opus called Paradise. Are we facing another graphical overhaul? If so, which game is affected? Well, we have a little idea about it.
A remaster in the works?
For some people, Stellar Entertainment is probably working on a remaster of the third work. But why this one? In fact, the 3 will celebrate their 20th anniversary in September 2024 (who feels old?). This project would then aim to pay homage to the game by bringing it up to date. For the rest, it would allow a new audience to discover it and open up to the Burnout license. Once again we’re in the realm of rumors, but it sounds pretty good. We hope to have the answer soon.
