On June 11, the PS Plus Premium catalog welcomes three games to (re)discover that, while not fundamentally new, are no less iconic.
At the beginning of June, PS Plus offered its subscribers several quality games. We especially remember the legendary San Andreas through the Extra formula. PS Plus Premium, for its part, delighted VR players with Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord and Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. On June 11, it’s time for nostalgia at this subscription level, with three titles that were particularly notable in their time.
Legendary PS2 games on PS Plus Premium
The first of the three new PS Plus Premium games deserves its legendary name, because it is Tomb Raider Legend. Released in 2006, especially for PS2, it is the first game in the franchise developed by Crystal Dynamics. The studio will then delight us with the excellent reboot of the 2013 license, accompanied by Lara Croft. After the very bad The Angel of Darkness, Legend is in any case a very successful first reissue of the original formula of this true icon of video games from the now famous studio.
The second game available today on PS Plus Premium is another mascot from the PS2 era: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. The title was released in 2002, developed by a certain Sucker Punch, known more recently for the very good Ghost of Tsushima, among other things. In any case, in this venerable game we find Sly Cooper and his gang in an action-platformer style mixed with stealth. As a reminder, it was this first work that advanced the Sly Cooper series and made it another highly valued PlayStation license. We also hope to see it again one day on PS5 or higher, in better shape than ever.
Nostalgic return to a galaxy far, far away
The latest game available today on PS Plus Premium is likely to keep Star Wars fans excited while they wait for a certain Outlaws at the end of August. It is actually The Clone Wars, released in 2002, particularly on PS2, and developed by the well-known Pandemic Studios. This title is divided into two parts: vehicular combat and Jedi combat under the control of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Winde as part of the prelogy Clone Wars. This game is in a way a first draft of what will be the excellent and iconic original Star Wars Battlefront in 2004.
