They say that when one door closes, another one opens. Lie. And no window opens either. Finding closed doors in video games is always a pain, especially in The Last of Us Part I. Opening them means breaking a dagger, a weapon that can save your life against clickers.
Following the teachings of Joel: when a door closes, a dagger opens it. Next I show you where the 13 closed doors are that you must open to get the Master Locksmith trophy.
Closed doors in The Last of Us Part I
This achievement is a bit tricky because you need to have a dagger handy at all times… or at least the materials to make one. If you’re going for the Platinum Trophy, my advice is to reserve ALL daggers for these doors. In fact, it is necessary to open some of these doors to get other trophies.
- Gate 1, Center (ruined building): Right after being defended by Tess from the Clicker attack, enter the room on the right as soon as you regain control of the character.
- Gate 2, Museum: Go through the corridor that you see in the small image and turn left as soon as you pass the double doors. You walk into a dining room with a bar. Open the gray door you see in the image (large).
- Gate 3, The Woods (newcomers to Bill’s Town): As soon as you reach this area of buildings (small image) go to the left and look for the gray door next to the drop. In the building on the right you have materials to make a dagger.
- Gate 4, newcomer to Bill’s Town: When you get to the famous main street (small image), look for the music store. In the back area you will find the door. Watch out for damn Bill’s traps.
- Gate 5, Containment Zone, Book Store (Pittsburgh): It is a building that you have to go through yes or yes and in which there are enemies. Go up to the second floor and look for the door to the right of the cafeteria.
- Gate 6, before entering the hotel (Pittsburgh): Right after the cutscene you see on the street (small image), turn left as soon as you take control of the character. It’s the door with the red X.
- Gate 7, Financial District (Pittsburgh): Proceed through the financial district until you find the tank intersection (small image). Look at the brown building on the right. Look in the back room.
- Gate 8, apartment area as you flee the city: In the apartments after meeting Henry and Sam. It is the door you see in the picture. It opens with a dagger. It has no loss because it is a mandatory step.
- Gate 9, just as you reach the hydroelectric power station: You can see it at the end of the metal stairs.
- Gate 10, Science Building: has no loss. As soon as you reach the corridor that I show you in the small image, look for the door at the bottom on the right.
- Gate 11, Cabin Complex (to Ellie’s rescue): when you go through the bottleneck that forms the container (small image), don’t do it and continue to the right. You will find a shack. That is your door.
- Gate 12, underground tunnel: After Ellie opens the metal gate for you (after being attacked) you find a workbench. As you exit through the door next to the table, turn right to find the door.
- Gate 13, Hospital (inside): Look for this reception area that you see in the image. It is a mandatory step after a confrontation against a group of Fireflies. It has no loss.
as soon as you open the Puerta 13you should get the trophy master locksmith. It is important that you make this trophy, as many of these doors hide Firefly Pendants and Comics, collectibles that you need for their respective trophies.
