The first electric motorcycle from the Spanish brand Silence is making waves. The S05 Weekender wants to score points with, among other things, range and speed. We introduce you to the e-bike alternative.

We have previously known the Silence brand, based in Barcelona, Europe, from electric light motorcycles or e-scooters, such as the S01 model with removable batteries. At the EICMA motorcycle trade fair, the company presented large electric scooters and electric motorcycles, just like Honda and Harley-Davidson.
Silence S05 Weekender in pictures
The Silence S05 Weekender model should only cost 3,500 dollars! For orientation: Mid-range e-bikes recently tested by Netzwelt, such as the Canyon Pathlite:ON SL 6, cost a comparable price. Most classic motorcycles with combustion engines are also more expensive.
The technical data of the S05 Weekender doesn’t look bad. The typical range is given by the Manufacturerwhich belongs to the Acciona conglomerate, with 133 kilometers. The maximum speed should be 120 km/h, which means the electric motorcycle can also be driven on German motorways.
The weight is impressively low: at a stated 94 kilograms, the S05 Weekender competes with the weaker Sondors MetaBeast or a Sur Ron X. However, it should be noted that Silence does not take the battery into account when specifying the weight. The manufacturer does not disclose how much the energy storage device weighs.
Other features include a seven-inch touchscreen and ABS. Under the dummy tank you will find a storage compartment that also fits a helmet.
Price and availability
Silence wants to bring two versions of the Weekender onto the market. In addition to the model presented, there will be an entry-level version limited to 100 km/h.
