A Red Dead Online player reports being the first player Level 1,000 achieved in Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer. For this he accumulated a whopping 27 million experience points. Players with a similar level usually play PvP because a lot of XP is awarded for shooting other players.
To prove the milestone, the player shared a screenshot from their inventory screen on Twitter. The rank and experience points appear in the top left corner:

There have been reports of very high level players in Red Dead Online before. However, we have not yet found a confirmed case of a player with level 1,000. There was about a player at level 900 who used unfair tricks to farm valuable PvP points. The following video shows how the exploit was tracked down by a player and literally brought over "with bloody hands":
The first "real" level 1000?
It could actually be the first case of a level 1000 player, but it is difficult to check. Theoretically, the screenshot could be manipulated. Or cheats or exploits were used. We asked both the player and Rockstar to get more information or to confirm the case. If we get an answer, we will update this news.

Those who play Red Dead Online a lot will be rewarded with the latest update
Getting to this level is hard: A comparison with the game character of the author of this report shows which amount of grind is necessary for level 1,000, with whatever legal means. I played a cross-section of all the content offered by Red Dead Online, leveled up all professions and also played some PvP. Nevertheless, I only made it to level 69 in 125 hours of play.
