The so-called “clouding” occurs when the smart TV overheats or is under great pressure. You can see how the lighting on your television screen spreads unevenly in some places and other parts are not illuminated as strongly.
Prevent clouding
In order to avoid possible clouding problems with your TV right from the start, you should proceed cautiously when transporting your Smart TV. For example, you should be particularly careful with the corners of your television, as these are where the liquid crystals are located and can be bent quickly.
As soon as you use your new Smart TV at home, you should not place it in the immediate vicinity of a heater. You should also always make sure to ventilate your room and keep the room temperature generally cool. First and foremost, this prevents your TV from overheating and causing clouding in the first place.
Measures against clouding
If the “clouds” problem has already happened on your TV screen, it is important that you cool down your TV directly. In addition to the forced ventilation, it is advisable to use a fan or even to attach housing fans to the ventilation slots of your Smart TV.
If you dare, you can also open the screws on your panel to allow further ventilation of your television. You can also reduce the pressure of the frame if it is already deformed. To be on the safe side, you should not open the screw connection completely. You can wipe the affected area with a lint-free cloth to further counteract the pressure.
To counteract the clouding effect in the short term, you can also light up your darkened room. This normalizes the brightness at least a bit and you can wait until your TV cools down completely or releases the pressure.
Newer model series of Smart TVs
In the meantime, however, the clouding problem should be less and less common as the latest smart TVs have better ventilation. However, if this problem keeps appearing, you should consider getting a new TV that works perfectly and no longer causes you problems.
