Fans of the Football Manager series will have to wait longer for the latest installment and will also have to do without some of the features that were once planned.
The development of Football Manager 25 has suffered another setback. Studio manager Miles Jacobson has announced that the developer Sports Interactive has now announced that the release, originally planned for early November, will have to be postponed by a few weeks to the end of November.
The more detailed official presentation of this year’s management simulation will now take place a little later, at the end of September; various gameplay details will be available shortly thereafter.
But that’s not all, because some features that were originally planned have now been deleted. This includes international management, for example, which has been removed from all versions (PC, console, touch). During the development of this feature, it became clear that it would not be able to reach the studio’s desired quality standard by the time of release.
They also analyzed available game data and found that only 5.6 percent of PC players had save games in this mode. This reinforced the impression that much, much more work needs to be put into this. International Management is set to return in Football Manager 2026 with significantly more extensive features.
In addition, in a smaller feature cut, the weights of players will be removed from the profiles. The leading factor for this decision was the introduction of women’s football in the game. Women’s body types differ noticeably from those of men and female weight fluctuates significantly more, which is why this topic has now been completely omitted from the game.
