After Football Manager 24, which exploded the license’s popularity, the next installment will be one of change. Following the leaks, SEGA confirms the release date.
The Football Manager license has never been more popular. The latest version has amassed around 14 million players, helped in part by the launch of Game Pass, and the studio has no intention of resting on its laurels. Sega and Sports Interactive confirm the upcoming release of Football Manager 25, an episode that will be more about risk-taking with a small number of new features.
After the leaks, it’s time to make it official. SEGA has officially announced the release date for its new version of Football Management, which promises many changes. Therefore, Football Manager 25 will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series on November 26, 2024, with availability on Xbox Game Pass from its release. A mobile version, FM25 Touch, exclusive to Netflix, will be released the same day as the Nintendo Switch port launches on December 3, 2024. While certain franchises only rely on a few new features during their annual release, Football Manager 2025 needs one more round.
This new episode marks the franchise’s transition to the Unity engine, promising the most important technical and visual leap for the saga to date. The user interface has been redesigned accordingly to allow for smoother and more elegant navigation between the various menus, without compromising the attention to detail that the developers hold so dear. Player volumetric animations will also be dusted off for the Match Day experience when women’s football finally makes its debut in the series with Football Manager 25.
« Thanks to the brand new multi-year partnership between SI and the Premier League, players can explore new horizons or immerse themselves in the beautiful game more than ever » explains SEGA in its press release. This new episode clearly has no lack of ambition, and the developers even see it as a starting point for the next 20 to 30 years, no less.
