Fans of The Witcher have to prepare for two big changes in season 4 of the Netflix series: Of course, Henry Cavill has long since left the series and is now being replaced by Liam Hemsworth. But we also have to do without the well-known Geralt/Ciri dynamic (for now).
Features Falka doesn’t need Geralt
In a new interview with ScreenRant Freya Allan lets it be known that Ciri and Geralt will get along without each other in the fourth season. But there is a good reason for this. Before the final fifth season begins, Ciri must learn to stand on her own two feet and pass the next chapter without her trusted protector and mentor.
If that works out? Freya Allan previously teased that Ciri’s journey could take a dark turn or two. After the events of season 3, she no longer even calls herself Ciri, but joins the rat gang as Falka.
Allan describes how consistent Ciri’s distancing from Geralt will be in season 4 as follows:
There is no relationship this season [zwischen Geralt und Ciri]. Ciri does her own thing and [Geralt] as well. For Ciri, it’s now: forget Geralt. Let’s forget all that. It never happened. Now I’m Falka – not Ciri. But as you might imagine, she hasn’t completely put that behind her. She’s just getting started.
Freya Allan has not yet been able to work with Liam Hemsworth. Since seasons 4 and 5 of The Witcher are to be filmed in one go, it is probably only a matter of time. Geralt and Ciri should definitely meet again in the finale of the Netflix series, but until then, Allan says:
Liam is wonderful, he is a really nice guy. I haven’t heard anything from him yet [in der Rolle von Geralt] since we barely have any scenes together right now, but he’s really nice. I’ve seen him really deliver, so I can’t wait to see it for myself.

The Witcher: The first trailer for season 4 shows Liam Hemsworth as witcher Geralt for the first time
Season 4 of The Witcher is not expected to hit Netflix until 2025, possibly not until the middle of the year. It is currently unknown when the fifth and final season will follow. However, the grand finale of the Netflix series should not be too long in coming.
