Nancy Drew, the famous fictional detective who has crossed various mediums, makes her comeback after a five-year absence with her 34th game since 2000.
In Announced this week by developer Her Interactive, Nancy Drew: Mystery of the Seven Keys takes players to the historic city of Prague to solve a new mystery: the search for a stolen family necklace. The trailer suggests a mix of cybercrime and modern technology with medieval legends, alchemy and ancient artifacts creating a mysterious and captivating environment. This brand new 3D gaming experience takes players into the heart of historic Prague as they take on the role of famous detective Nancy Drew. Tasked with uncovering the truth behind the theft of a customer’s heirloom necklace, players navigate and investigate the mysterious ancient world environments of the beautiful city. Encounter challenging puzzles, decipher riddles and uncover clues mixed with medieval legends, alchemy and lore. As the investigation deepens, Nancy uncovers a sinister cybercrime network. What is Nancy Drew anyway?
For those who don’t know the series: Nancy Drew is a collection of adventure games based on the popular children’s books of the same name. They are all developed by Her Interactive, a video game company specializing in games with strong female characters and puzzles to solve.
The players embody Nancy Drew, a young amateur detective who is often immersed in intriguing mysteries and puzzles that need to be solved. Players explore various locations, interact with non-playable characters, piece together clues, and solve complex cases. Each game offers a unique mystery, from missing people to supernatural events, art thefts and family secrets.
Originally, Nancy Drew is a series of novels for children and young adults created by Edward Stratemeyer and written by various authors under the collective pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The first book entitled “The Secret of the Old Clock” was published in 1930. Since then, the saga has become one of the most popular children’s book series of all time.
Since their introduction in the 1930s, the Nancy Drew books continue to be published, with new titles being added regularly. They have influenced generations of readers and been adapted into television series, films and… 34 video games.
