News JVTech For this French, pioneer of AI, ChatGPT is “nothing revolutionary”

ChatGPT is considered by many to be revolutionary and ultra-innovative. But some disagree, including one of the most respected people in the world of artificial intelligence.
ChatGPT: “There is nothing revolutionary about that”
Meta’s lead artificial intelligence scientist, Yann LeCun, sees nothing impressive about the ChatGPT AI. This comes from someone who just won the Turing Award for his work in deep learning. His word therefore has real value and greatly puts into perspective the true power that ChatGPT can be.
In an interview with Zdnet, the scientist spoke quite negatively about the artificial intelligence that is currently being talked about. For him, it’s more of a buzz than a true technological feat. He even goes so far as to state that the innovative aspect is almost non-existent:
“OpenAI is no advance at all compared to other labs. It’s not just Google and Meta, there are half a dozen startups that basically have technology very similar to this one. Not saying it’s not rocket science, but it’s really shared, there’s no mystery behind it if you will.
So a little cold shower sets in as we realize that this is nothing compared to what we are capable of. So the power of the AIs working in the background would be colossal.
Who better to answer this question than the IZA Chief Scientist at Meta? Yann LeCun seems ready to create a ChatGPT style ChatBot with her own AI. The purpose will probably be different, but much more powerful, according to the scientist.
The goal would even be to go even further and not limit yourself to “text generation, but also design aids, generative art, I think that will be a great thing”.
So, in the project, we could see advertising campaigns created by AI through the Facebook algorithm for companies that don’t have the means to create a campaign from A to Z.
This type of project would certainly not be public like ChatGPT. As Yann LeCun explains, “Google and Meta both have a lot to lose by building systems that make things possible.” Which is more understandable, because on the one hand OpenAI is looking for popularity, Google and Meta have nothing to prove in the field. It’s not worth the risk, especially since it provides algorithms that are worth a fortune.
After Microsoft adopted OpenAI, it is gradually being used in the company’s various software programs. Hoping this doesn’t remove the public aspect of the software.
