Soon, there will be fewer Elder Scrolls games to play in the world, as the card game Legends is no longer available on Steam.
I don’t blame you if you’ve completely forgotten about The Elder Scrolls: Legends, I’m not even entirely sure I knew it existed in the first place, but it does exist; or, should I say, because as of yesterday you This game can no longer be purchased on Steam. When you go to the game’s Steam page, you’ll see a message telling you that the game is no longer available on the storefront, but when you launch the game, a message will appear confirming that the game is shutting down. The message reads: “The Elder Scrolls: Legends servers will permanently shut down on January 30, 2025.”

“From now until January 30, 2025, the entrance fee for all items in the store and in-game events is 1 gold coin, so you can enjoy everything Legends has to offer. On that day, the servers will be shut down and the game will be inaccessible. Thank you for playing and we hope you have a great time playing Legends,” considering the game peaked at just under 9,000 players when it first launched seven years ago, according to SteamDB. This probably won’t affect that many people, but it’s always a shame when a game is taken down for any reason.
Active development on the game ended in 2019, so this isn’t a surprise by any means. Legends was clearly a response to the growing trend of digital collectible card games at the time – Hearthstone was doing pretty well at the time, but you don’t hear much about the mig CCG these days, do you? Still, it’s a little frustrating that another game has dropped simply because it wasn’t a huge success, but I’m sure the next one will live on. Correct?
