Racing game fans with a soft spot for Formula 1 usually get their money's worth with the F1 games from Codemasters – at least if they want to compete in the races themselves. Those who are more interested in management simulations and will take over their own racing team will also get suitable games on hand in the future.

As has now become known, Frontier Developments has bagged a new Formula 1 deal. The focus is on the rights relating to management simulations for the coming seasons from 2022 to 2025. The developer studio has made a name f or itself above all thanks to the very successful Planet Zoo, but also with Elite Dangerous or RollerCoaster Tycoon.
In the future, the studio will now have the exclusive rights for a management series around Formula 1; Codemasters retains the exclusive rights for the further implementation of a corresponding racing game simulation.
Chief Executive David Braben comments: "We are pleased to announce this multi-year licensing deal with the F1. The F1 is one of the world's most popular sports franchises and we believe that combining the F1 brand with our extensive management experience -Play a fantastic gaming experience for a wide audience across the globe. "
Frontier will now produce appropriate management simulations for the upcoming 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons, at least when the commercial goals for the series are met. Technically, the titles will be based on our own Cobra engine.
