This prophetic The demo received mixed reactions, but a recent interview with the creative director made it clear that the final game will be different.
It’s fair to say that, on the whole, people were wary of Forspoken, partly because of a really bad ad (Square Enix itself admits the meme it made was hilarious). A recently released demo gave fans a chance to experience the game for themselves. But on the game’s subreddit, reactions were mixed, in part because of the side quests offered in the demo. However, in a recent interview with Gematsu, the game’s creative director Raido Mitsuno explained that the side quests from the demo won’t be in the final game (thanks GamesRadar).
Referring to the demo the interviewer played at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, the same demo players can now access, Mtsuno said: “It was a game demo that was specially made just to give people a sense of parkour and magic. Mechanics. So in terms of makeup, it’s specifically like getting quests like, complete these five objectives and then you can fight the boss. So the full game isn’t actually designed that way, it’s just specifically for that demo experience created”
Obviously, the demo is available to try out now, depending on how you feel about the game, but for those worried about what’s out there right now, it’s at least good to know that it doesn’t reflect the final game. iGamesNews also had the chance to speak to some of the developers at Forspoken recently, where they explained why the game couldn’t be released on PS4.
They also talked about two special PlayStation exclusives to help them understand the open-world mistakes they should avoid while developing Forspoken.
