After the immense success of Fortnite OG last year, Epic Games could make the classic mode permanently available in the future.
The return to the first, original Fortnite island in Fortnite OG at the end of last year helped the already successful long-running favorite to really take off. The battle royale hit is setting new record player numbers, which is why Epic Games has currently temporarily brought back the popular Chapter 2 and is building on last year’s successful model with classic content.
Reports from very reliable Fortnite insiders online now say that Fortnite OG will return in December – as a permanent mode alongside Chapter 6. This will happen in the upcoming final event of the current season or as part of The Game Awards in the first of December week to be announced.
Both HYPEX and ShiinaBR, who have accurately leaked Fortnite content in the past, are reporting on this plan to bring back Fortnite OG. Accordingly, Remix Chapter 2 says goodbye, but Chapter 1 – like last year – will return permanently. All ten seasons of this chapter will then come into play and rotate month after month. In addition, there should only be OG loot in this mode and the map will also be supported in Build and Zero Build.
Last year’s successful model of Fortnite OG has also been adopted by competitors. Just yesterday, for example, Respawn Entertainment announced a comeback of the original map and content from competitor Apex Legends.
Would you be happy to see last year’s Fortnite OG make a comeback? Or would you rather jump straight into the completely new Chapter 6, which is running at the same time?
