For years, Fortnite was banned from iOS devices due to the legal dispute between Apple and Epic Games, but thanks to new EU case law and legislation, the long-running Battle Royale is finally back on these platforms.
Epic Games has now launched its own Epic Games Store for iPhones in the European Union and for Android worldwide. In the EU, the new legislation also made this possible on Apple devices.
With the launch of the store, Fortnite is also returning to iOS devices, as you can now download the Epic Games title to your iPhone via the store. This is joined by other well-known titles such as Fall Guys and Rocket League Sideswipe, which are now available for iOS in this way.
That’s perfect, because today the new Season 4: Absolute Doom starts in Fortnite Battle Royale, which you can now enjoy on the go on your mobile phone – just like on all other supported platforms.
Currently, installing the Epic Games Store on iOS and Android is a bit of a tedious process, as Apple and Google deliberately use a substandard installation experience with multiple steps, confusing device settings, and daunting screens, according to Epic Games. “We continue to fight in court and work with regulators around the world to overcome the anti-competitive conditions Apple and Google impose on developers and consumers so we can build a better store for everyone,” Epic Games said.
