Nine years after its release, The Witcher 3 still holds some well-hidden secrets, including a recently discovered secret about the best ending to CD Projekt RED’s masterpiece.

A discovery of secrets that never ends in The Witcher 3
Since the addition of the REDKit tool, which ensures full mod support for The Witcher 3, fans continue to discover new secrets hidden deep in the bowels of CD Projekt RED’s masterpiece. There are countless feature restor ations and cutscenes from the endgame. That’s exactly what we’re interested in here when it comes to Wild Hunt’s “best ending.” In it, Ciri finds her freedom to fully enjoy life as a witcher. But the cutscene we see in the game contained elements that were cut out during editing.
Thanks to the mod” Ciri Witcher – Ending Restoration » by merigoldmaribor, we can thus discover (although only on PC) what CD Projekt RED had planned for this ending of The Witcher 3. As a reminder, after the great final battle, Geralt finds his adopted daughter in the Blanchefleur tavern, to entrust her to him with a magnificent witcher sword. The same tavern where we stop off with Vesemir at the beginning of the game. In short, a kind of circle closes. However, as development progressed, certain lines of dialogue between our two protagonists were deleted. Most of them reflected certain choices made by the player during the adventure, particularly regarding the person to whom we decided to give our heart.
In the base version of The Witcher 3, the ending ends with Ciri sheathing her new sword and the credits rolling. However, this mod also restores a scene right afterward where Geralt hints that her friends are waiting for her in Ellander, a principality in northern Temeria.
