Asymmetric multiplayer game Friday the 13th: The Game wasn’t exactly a hit, but it did have its fans. They can now look forward to a fat farewell gift.
The lifetime of Friday the 13th: The Game is coming to an end with a vengeance. By the end of the year, publisher Gun Media will have to pull the game from stores. The reason is simple: the license agreement is expiring and will not be renewed.
But Gun Media wants to end the game with fireworks and has now announced a big surprise for the remaining players. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, almost everything the game has to offer will be unlocked.
So all players get the maximum level 150, 30 legendary perks are activated without ifs and buts, all kills (except the DLC kills) are unlocked. There are no more experience points to get – why should they, if you are raised to the maximum level anyway. In addition, the prices of the game and its DLCs are now reduced.
Gun Media said the changes were made to reduce dependency on database servers, but matchmaking functionality was unaffected.
There is more good news at the end: even if the game flies from the stores on December 31st, you can still play for quite a while. According to Gun Media, the servers should work for at least another year so that you can let off steam with the unlocked achievements.
