From Software: Two games will go offline in March 2024

Games, March, offline, Software

From Software will be shutting down the online servers for two well-known in-house titles in the new year. We’ll tell you here which games are specifically affected.

Developers and publishers regularly free up online capacity by taking older titles offline and shutting down the associated servers. At From Software it will be that time again at the end of the first quarter of 2024.

As the developer of Elden Ring has now made public, the Armored Core: Verdict Day servers will be shut down on March 31, 2024. The title was originally released in 2013, so it’s over after just over a decade.

On the same day, another well-known title from the studio is also affected, as the online services for Dark Souls II will also go offline. However, only the versions for PS3 and Xbox 360 of Soulslike are affected, so anyone who plays on PC, PS4 and Xbox One doesn’t have to worry for the time being and will still be able to play online.

In the case of Armored Core: Verdict Day, in contrast to Dark Souls II, the online features are completely gone. Both the PC version and the versions for PS3 and Xbox 360 will no longer have access to online features, which means that many game modes will no longer be available in their entirety. Specifically, the following areas are affected by the shutdown of the servers in the game:

  • World Mode
  • Mercenary Features
  • Territory Customisation
  • Ranking
  • Team Menus
  • Other features tied to online elements
  • Some achievements/trophies
  • Soldier Model DLC

The story missions that can be played offline will still be accessible after March 31, 2024.
