It’s been quiet for a long time about the sequel Frost Point 2, but now there’s finally new gameplay to see. In addition, the title has also been confirmed for Microsoft’s Game Pass.
The men at 11 bit studios have finally spoken out again about Frostpunk 2 and are showing the first full gameplay trailer for the game. In it you can get your own impression of the successor to the successful city builder and gain impressions of what else has happened with the mix of strategic planning and emotional narrative.
The title focuses on the story of a people who have to deal with harsh reality. As in real life, some individuals have more power to change things than others. However, this power is little consolation as they struggle to ensure the long-term survival of their city. You take on the role of the magistrate and are tasked with overseeing the growing metropolis. You must carefully weigh the needs and demands of society and make decisions.
City residents are worried about the future of their children and crime on the streets. They complain about unhealthy and poor living conditions, which are exacerbated by industrial growth, but they need jobs. And what if the magistrate cannot reward their hard work with food and shelter or take care of their health? He can’t please everyone, and when radical groups gain influence, all it takes is a spark to cause the powder keg to explode.
What will the finished game look like? We can see this for ourselves on the PC in the first half of 2024. In this context, the title was also confirmed directly for Microsoft’s PC Game Pass. An implementation for the Xbox Series X/S will follow the PC version and will then also be included in the Xbox Game Pass. Further details about the game and the release date will be available at a later date.
