streets of rage 4 A brand new update that adds a custom survival mode, co-op specific moves, and over 300 improvements.

Earlier this week, Dotemu released a major new update for Streets of Rage 4, bringing a strong visual impact to the game. First up is the game’s new custom survival mode, a new mode that lets players play as long as they can live, with rules they can fine-tune themselves. Customization options include things like choosing perks, starting level, whether it’s a boss level only, enemy scaling, hazards, destructibles, weapons, and whether you can heal.

In addition to this new mode, there’s also a ton of co-op action. With this update, you’ll be able to use different characters to perform specific combos with friends. You can see some of the different new moves included in this update in the updated trailer above, and a lot of them seem to be about throwing your battle buddies around when they’re ready to kill.

Over 300 improvements to the game for almost all characters, with tons of buffs and tweaks for every fighter. More broadly, you’ll now see a lot of reduction in hitstops for all characters, and throws will now more consistently hit other enemies close to the player as well. You can check out the patch notes on the game’s Steam page for a full rundown of all the tweaks that have been made.

Streets of Rage 4 launched in 2020 to generally positive reviews. iGamesNews’s own review of Streets of Rage 4 gave the game a perfect score, saying “Steels of Rage 4 is a funky anachronism for 2020, shouldn’t exist, really shouldn’t be this good. But who wouldn’t want to squat over a chicken, listen There was a flop, and then a sword was swung at the police, a cyclist fell to the ground on his knees, and he fell off the elevator. It was a farce.”
