The South Korean company Samsung recently announced that it will continue to distribute updates for selected cell phones in the future. So far, only top smartphones have been included, but with the upcoming Galaxy A53, rumors have it that a mid-range cell phone will soon receive four years of Android updates.
Like the tech blog SamMobile reported, Samsung has already announced that it will also provide updates to Galaxy A models for a longer period of time, but left open which models are meant. But it can be assumed that the A53 will be one of them.
Samsung had already treated the predecessor Galaxy A52 like a top smartphone in terms of software updates and guaranteed it three major Android updates. The successor should now benefit from the recently announced extended update policy. Other manufacturers usually only give you one update in this price range.
