It’s been a few days since Game Awards ceremony organizer Geoff Keighley hammered us out that the reveal of the Game of the Year contenders will be tonight. On the player side, we were curious to see the list of nominees, as well as the different categories of this 2022 edition. But above all, we were waiting to know if the duel at the top between Elden Ring and God of War: Ragnarök would underline the excitement of the evening: It’s a big yes, and there’s even two French matches to try and take on the two giants!

Thanks to an infographic shared by the event’s producer, we learn that God of War: Ragnarök has been named no fewer than ten times! Elden Ring and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are tied with seven nominations, closely followed by Stray (6) and A Plague Tale: Requiem (5). Now for the main categories!

This 2022 edition promises entertainment, and lots of it! Throughout the ceremony, the awards ceremonies will be interspersed with excerpts highlighting the video games that will define the coming months and that could end up on the GOTY 2023 list, who knows.
