Some rights to “Lord of the Rings” go to a Swedish game publisher who has already bought Tomb Raider. We tell you which rights the Embracer Group has now secured.

- This means that the rights to films, series, games and merchandising go to the company.
- Only the book rights remain with Harper Collins Verlag.
The rights to Lord of the Rings will go to Embracer Group after the game publisher previously bought Tomb Raider.
In a press release the Embracer Group announces that not only the game rights, but also the film and merchandising rights now belong to the Swedish company.
Only the book rights remain with Harper Collins-Verlag. It is not known how much the Embracer Group paid for the various rights that also affect “The Hobbit”.
However, it is clear that with this purchase not only possible new video and board games belong to the company, but also the upcoming Amazon series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
