Don’t you like the new Okami game? Oh yes, that would be a good thing. All those nights longing for Capcom to do the right thing are worth it. The prayer was finally answered.
Are you fans of Jet Set Radio? Although a new game in the series seems unlikely, who doesn’t feel heartache when they encounter street art or see a child roller skating casually in the street? I know I know, my heart is almost frozen. A suitable new game will be very popular, won’t it?
Conk is another. I liked that rude squirrel that day, and his Xbox remake was also very fashionable. But where is the return? How do modern people view his subversive humor? It can definitely be done. No matter what happens, please don’t let him return to some terrible crossover aimed at raising awareness of another product. Because it would be cruel.
Oh, it has happened, and it continues to happen. Conker, if you don’t remember, I won’t blame you if you forget, because I think even Microsoft is trying to forget this special period in the history of Xbox, which became part of Project Spark as a premium DLC. You can play a small game starring Conk. But this is not really suitable Conker. It’s as if your favorite now-discontinued chocolate bar is back in a novel flavor of potato chips. Project Spark was eliminated, but if you want a new Conker, good news-you can get some drunken Conker-themed ship decals in Sea of Thieves! It’s neat, but it’s not what fans want, really, is it?
Okami is back a bit, but as part of the crossover event in Monster Hunter Rise. Amaterasu will take an adventure with you. wonderful. Thanks, Capcom. I don’t even like Monster Hunter, but I was attracted because I hope that participating in this event means that publishers will consider new entries in the series, which may be futile. So people are not getting tired of it, reducing their thirst meter from 10 to 9 in a few weeks, and Capcom believes it has served its fans. It doesn’t. It deceived us.
Jet Set Radio feels like a bigger problem, but as long as video games exist, the dream will exist. Just today, Sega announced that Beat in Dreamcast Classic is a playable character…Check the notes…Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. This is obviously what every fan dreams of at night. Thank you very much Sega.
These are just three examples that I thought of or were pushed to my Twitter feed. There are many such situations. In extreme cases, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be seen by many as a celebration of the history of video games, but when Nintendo didn’t give fans anything for 18 years, I found that seeing anything related to F-Zero there was a bit irritating. People are annoyed. What are we celebrating here? 18 years of sorrow?
Capcom, I’m sorry to attack you again, but the same goes for your heartstrings for Darkstalkers fans. Street Fighter games usually feature crossover clothing, but where is the new Darkstalkers game? We will not hold our breath for this, but you are happy to enter the nostalgia keg with the absolute minimum.
In order to understand this, I am a bit exaggerated. These nods to the old franchise are sometimes neat, but they can feel very cynical and take advantage of fans. There is no doubt that I will relax my heart a little to enjoy the fun of playing Beat in the monkey ball, but a part of me will feel that I have been taken advantage of. I understand why these bones are thrown to die-hard fans, but at some point publishers need to deposit more money to keep this account open.
