The Christmas month of December was again extremely high in sales in the games area, which is also reflected in the number of game sales awards awarded in Germany. Above all, blockbuster FIFA 20 has every reason to celebrate.

The 2019 financial statements are impressive for the game industry in Germany, as several titles have won significant sales brands in the Federal Republic and were therefore awarded one of the coveted game sales awards.
First and foremost is the evergreen FIFA 20 from EA Sports, which managed to overcome the hurdle of 1.5 million sales in December – mind you, in Germany alone. That is enough for the next BIU special award, the highest award of the federal association.
There were also five different game sales awards in platinum, which are awarded for each 200,000 games sold. In particular, this brand has achieved:
- Luigi's Mansion 3 (Next Level Games / Nintendo) – Nintendo Switch
- Need for Speed: Heat (Ghost Games / Electronic Arts) – PS4, Xbox One and PC
- Pokémon Shield (Game Freak / Nintendo) – Nintendo Switch
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (Respawn Entertainment / Electronic Arts) – PS4, Xbox One and PC
- Super Mario Maker 2 (Nintendo / Nintendo) – Nintendo Switch
Last but not least, there were also two gold awards for 100,000 sales. This brand also cracked Hideo Kojima's exclusive PS4 title Death Stranding:
- Death Stranding (KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS / Sony Interactive Entertainment) – PS4
- Ring Fit Adventure (Nintendo / Nintendo) – Nintendo Switch
